Who we are:
Interwoven Connections is an Ontario based not-for-profit organization that supports families and relationships formed through adoption, kinship and customary care. We rely on a community of people with lived experience to provide relevant and timely guidance, advocacy, encouragement, and resources to families. We believe that all families have a right to advocacy, support and guidance.
Purpose of role:
Your role is to lead in capacity building, knowledge transfer and development of collaborative relationships within our community. You will facilitate and deliver in- person and virtual presentations to Children’s Aid societies, Indigenous Family well-being agencies, related service providers and professionals. Your role will focus on cultivating relationships not yet created across the province introducing Interwoven Connections’ various programs, services and mission.

Flexible hours
35 hours per week
This is a contract position with possibility of extension based on external funding
Salary and benefits:
$24.94
3 weeks paid vacation; 6 days of personal time off; 12 statutory holidays
Group Benefits for employees working more than 20 hours per week including Healthcare, Dental Care, Disability and Life Insurance after 90 days of employment.
Responsibilities and duties:
You will represent Interwoven Connections at local and provincial adoption, kinship, and customary care related events, highlighting Interwoven’s Peer to Peer Support Network, with an objective to increase awareness of available supports for parents and caregivers.
You will work collaboratively with Interwoven Connections Peer Connectors and AFCCA Family Supports team to identify potential areas of growth for capacity building.
You will develop and maintain a collaborative relationship with child welfare professionals from local Children’s Aid Societies (CAS) and Indigenous Family Well-being agencies
You will promote and develop community partnerships and networks with CAS workers, and family well-being agencies, mental health service providers, public health, child development agencies, medical professionals and other relevant community partners.
Qualifications and skills:
Communication skills both written and verbal in English. Fluency in French is preferred but not mandatory.
Direct lived experience with adoption, kinship, customary care and/or fostering
Demonstrated understanding of anti-racism, including anti-Black and anti-indigenous racism, equity and the issues impacting these communities.
Experience and/or knowledge related to Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), developmental trauma, Aggression toward Family/Caregivers in Childhood and Adolescence (AFCCA), and/or attachment disorders.
Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including service providers, organizational leaders, and families.
Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint.
